Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
Minutely ("we", "us", "our") operates useminutely.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google's OAuth service. We use your email address as your account identifier and to send you transactional notifications.
1.2 Assignment Content
We collect the prompts you submit to generate assignments, the generated text, recipient email addresses, and scheduling details (deadlines, send times). This content is stored in our database to enable the scheduling and sending features.
1.3 Gmail Access (when you connect)
If you choose to connect your Gmail account to enable sending from your own email address, we request the gmail.send scope through Google's OAuth. This allows us to send emails on your behalf. We store a refresh token securely in our database. We do not read, index, or access any emails in your inbox. We use this access exclusively to send the emails you schedule through Minutely. You can revoke this access at any time from your Minutely settings or from your Google Account Permissions page.
1.4 Usage Data
We collect basic usage data including pages visited, features used, and error logs to improve the Service. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
1.5 Cookies and Sessions
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is HTTP-only, secure, and expires after 30 days. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service
- To generate AI-written content based on your prompts
- To schedule and send emails at the times you specify
- To send you notifications about your submissions (e.g., delivery confirmations, professor replies)
- To respond to your support requests
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse of the Service
We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third parties solely to provide the Service:
- Google LLC — for authentication (Google OAuth) and email sending (Gmail API). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel Inc. — our hosting provider. Processes request data on our behalf.
- Supabase — our database provider. Stores your account data, content, and Gmail tokens in encrypted form.
- Groq Inc. — our AI inference provider. Your prompts are sent to Groq to generate content. Groq does not use your data to train models. Subject to Groq's privacy policy.
4. Gmail API Limited Use Disclosure
Minutely's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Gmail access to send emails that you explicitly schedule through the Service
- We do not read, scan, or process the contents of your Gmail inbox
- We do not share Gmail data with third parties except as necessary to deliver the emails you schedule
- We do not use Gmail data to serve advertisements
- We do not allow humans to read your Gmail data unless you have given explicit permission or it is required for security purposes
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and submission history for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@useminutely.com. Gmail refresh tokens are deleted immediately when you disconnect Gmail from your settings.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS for all data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive credentials (Gmail tokens), and HTTP-only secure session cookies. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@useminutely.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending an email to your registered address. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
