Canvas scatters due dates across courses, which is exactly how assignments slip past you. Here are the four views that pull everything into one place so nothing hides in a course you forgot to check.
- 1Dashboard To-Do sidebar
On your Canvas Dashboard, the right-hand sidebar shows a 'To Do' and 'Coming Up' list of upcoming assignments across all courses, with due dates. Fastest daily glance.
- 2The global To-Do list
Some schools show a 'List View' Dashboard — toggle it (top-right) for a single agenda of everything due, grouped by date.
- 3The Calendar
Click 'Calendar' in the global navigation. Every assignment from every course appears on its due date. Color-coded by course, and you can hide courses to declutter.
- 4In the Canvas Student app
Open the app and tap 'To Do' or 'Calendar' to see all upcoming assignments and due dates on your phone, with push reminders if you enable notifications.

Seeing the list is only half of it — set Canvas notifications (Account → Notifications) to alert you before due dates, and enable push in the Canvas app. Otherwise you're relying on remembering to check.
